Cowgirl Hitty

I finished carving and painting this Hitty. I glued her pegs and she stood watching me cut out her little calico dress. I looked at her and she was staring into my eyes with a Look -- slightly tinged with worry and slightly with disgust. All of a sudden it was as if she had spoken, "I don't want a dress, I'm a Cowgirl!"

I saw immediately that she was right.

Now she's looking happier. She has her ten gallon hat (or is that a 10 cc hat?), leather and ultrasuede chaps with a handmade sterling silver belt buckle, and a bandana to keep the dust out of her nose when she's roping calves.

Hitty is 6 1/4 inches tall. She is lovingly carved of basswood by me, TC Vollum. Everything she wears was stitched or fabricated by me, especially for this unique doll.

The winning bidder gets everything in the picture except the horse - it's a wild mustang and has run off into the hills.
